Today , 29 youth and 4 pastors from 13 different congregation is getting together in Luther Centre to learn about investment and money management.

今天，29位来自13个堂会的青年人，一起聚集在八打灵信义楼，就是要学习如何投资和金钱管理。

By using the "cash flow 101" board game , every participants not only enjoy the fun by playing the game, but in the same time they learn the right way to spend money .

我们使用《金钱流101》的桌上游戏来学习这个功课，每一个参加者不只是在玩游戏，他们还在游戏当中学习如何以正确的态度来用钱和花钱。

Thanks to our trainer Bro.Terence from CLC for the hard work and all the youth in the workshop enjoy it and benefit a lot today. Lutheran Youth Malaysia wish to gether more young Lutheran not only come to learn ,but to get the chances to know more young Lutheran from other congregation.

台湾大专灵修班- Sue姐妹分享

我要感谢上帝透过LCMS（Ps Calvin & Ps. Faye）和Alice让我有这个机会远赴台湾参加大专灵修班。在营会每一天的学习，都带来很多的惊喜和意外的收获。

圣经对我来说就好像催眠的‘好帮手’，通常在晚上看圣经都只会看两三面就已经很困了。只是有时突然来的火热或是大难领头，很想从上帝的话语当中知道答案才会就会很想到上帝和圣经。

在营会的过程中，我发现原来我对圣经的认识是如此的表面，很多时候我‘以为’我明白，也没有去思考当中所要带出的含义。但是来到大专灵修班，上帝让我上了宝贵的一课，我发现我忽略了很多细节，如：历史人物的背景，当时的文化，耶稣每一次说话和动作。这些细节看似平凡，但其实它所要带出的含义是及为广大的。这会加深哦对上帝的认识。

我在这营会学到不单单只是查经，还有学到如何应用在自己的生命上。纵使对圣经有多深得了解，明白当中的含义但假如没有把它运用在生活上，就像盐失了味道，就被人丢弃一样，那所学的就会白费，生命还是没有改变。

在大专灵修班，早上灵修，听传道讲道，下午学习查经，晚上继续听道然后就是小组，每天都是一样的生活方式，看似很闷无趣。其实在整个过程中，是与上帝最friend的时候，无论在什么时候都不会被其他的事务打扰，没有烦恼，压力。

我不单单更认识上帝，也认识一群台湾的辅训和朋友。我们都会在小组时间来分享对上帝的认识，互相交流。

假如还有机会，我希望能继续上完台湾接下来的课程，让我所学的都能运用在自己和其他人身上，让查经法也能在马来西亚盛行。

Scripture Union Students On Mission (SUSOM) 2012 by Daniel Koo

Scripture Union (SU) Peninsular Malaysia has been running SUSOM for years. As a full time youth ministry staff in SU, I thank God for giving me the opportunities to serve the young people through this ministry, and this year it’s my third time involved in this program. It has been rejoicing to see how this program shapes the participants and witness their growth in ministries and spiritual journey with God. Especially this year I glad to see a Lutheran youth joined this program, together with other youths from different denominational churches around Malaysia.

Ruth from New Life Lutheran Church Ipoh first heard about this program from her senior, Karmun who also from the same church and joined the same program on year 2009. Later Ruth showed her interest by inquiring about it and later applied for it. She really grew a lot in terms of gaining self confidence and has more faith to God while trying to serve Him in new areas of ministry.

SUSOM, with stands for Scripture Union Students On Mission, is an annual short term ministry and mission exposure program specially tailored for school leavers in Malaysia. We usually run this program at the beginning of the year, when most of the school leavers still need to wait for their examination results to be released. This program offers them a platform to explore Christian ministries meanwhile willing to use their gifting to serve the Lord in various ministries. Normally SUSOM would be conducted in 3 to 5 weeks, and only receive 4 to 8 participants per intake. We will call our participants as SUSOMites in this program.

There are three main objectives to be achieved through SUSOM:

· To help the SUSOMites in nurturing their spiritual growth and greater sense of God’s calling on their life.

· To provide an avenue for the SUSOMites to use their gifting and talents to serve the Lord and also train them in serving various ministry capacities.

· To build meaningful partnership between the SUSOMites and SU for future camps and programs.

It’s not really something new about school leavers in Malaysia joining a similar program like this around the same time. But what makes this program so interesting and different from other programs is the interdenominational setting and the opportunity to go for a short overseas mission trip. This year we had Alixia from an Assembly of God (AOG) church in Ipoh; Christine Wong from a Methodist church in Miri; Kelvin Lee from a Brethren church in Subang Jaya; Melodie Lim from an AOG church in KL; and not to forget Ruth from Lutheran church in Ipoh. It was also their first time going to Cambodia and joined a mission trip.

This year SUSOM was conducted in three weeks (1 – 22 Feb 2012) at a few places, includes Cambodia. The SUSOMites first need to receive sufficient training and workshops in order to achieve the first two objectives mentioned above. They were required to do their personal journaling in daily basis and also reading assignments. Later they would be assigned with different roles and arranged to serve in various ministries. This ranges from administration works in office, youth and student ministry, children ministry, slum area ministry, church deputation and in a church’s camp too. Mentoring was also part of the program to guide, encourage and pray for the SUSOMites throughout the program.It’s definitely difficult to share everything about this program in this article, and so I only choose to highlight some meaningful experiences we all gained from it.

Its interdenominational setting allowed the SUSOMites to expose to different type of worship liturgies/styles while they go for church deputations. For instance, since Ruth is from a Lutheran church, she was arranged to go to a Brethren church and an independent church for ministries for two different Sundays; there were two SUSOMites from non-Lutheran church had the chance to attend worship service in Holy Cross Lutheran Church Ipoh (my home church) for exposure and ministry purposes. I had the opportunity later to debrief their experience with another denominational church’s worship services

and help them to understand the rationales behind these. Regardless of the differences, distinct worship liturgies/styles help Christians to express their worship and focus on Christ.

Alixia was sharing her personal testimony in English at Holy Cross Lutheran Church Ipoh, and I was the interpreter to translate in Cantonese.

The second highlight is their exposure to student ministry around Malaysia. This helps them to see the importance of running such ministry in secondary schools so as the school Christian fellowship (SCF) can always be the platform for the Christian students to fellowship and grow together, while also in the same time to reach out the non-believer students in school. In fact, a lot of non-believers are more open to join SCF in general compared to going to church. We like to encourage and challenge the SUSOMites one day could help up in SCFs in any possible and proper way, even they have left their school. We also like to grow the next generations with great sense of awareness about this ministry and pray for it.

Lastly it’s the 6-day mission exposure trip to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It was already my second time visit this lovely country. This round seven of us, including me and another SU staff joined the trip. We glad to have the partnership with SU Cambodia that made this mission trip a successful and meaningful one. Once again we need to give thanks to God for all His guidance and protection throughout the trip, even though some of us actually felt a little sick half way.

One of the impacts we would like to see is to challenge the SUSOMites to see their own country or neighborhood as a mission field too. Sometimes we may misunderstand or restrict the meaning of mission as someone who is willing to go far away from his or her home place to a rural area to preach the Word of God to the unreached people. Again and again I reminded the young people, include the SUSOMites that they are still people around us in our social and living circle who still need help/support and to hear the Gospel: your community, your school or college, your work place, and even your family! There are still missionaries come to our country, learn to speak our language in order to serve and reach our people here; same thing as the Malaysians do in other countries.

The SUSOMites were also touched and challenged by the passion of the local Cambodians who willing to spend time and full effort in serving the children around the city. Despite of the busyness with their study and work, they could offer their best consistently at all time to serve without giving excuses. I believe this experience helped the SUSOMites to reflect their attitude and lifestyles. You could read Ruth’s testimony in future to find out how this program, especially the mission trip impacted and shaped her heart and mind. 很多时候，为什么当我们读经，无论从上看到下，从左看到右都不明白到底圣经在说什么？而且我们都掌握不到经文的重点。我们一直不断的重复又重复，一年又一年的读，可是结果还是没有办法抓到圣经的重点呢？

相信这是身为基督徒的你和我都有经历过的问题，你想解决这缠绕你多年的问题吗？

感谢马新信义会信义青年在今年差派我到台湾参加由《台湾校园团契》举办的《大专灵修班》（简称《大灵班》），让我有机会可以学习到有效的归纳法读经。在那短短的144小时里，《大灵班》让我全时间沉浸在圣经里，让我可以学习读经，研经，释经。感谢上帝借此打开了我的属灵胃口，使我不断的keep reading,keep exploring，现在我的读经再也不是keep reading,keep suffering了.在《大灵班》里让我学习到了这个宝贵的功课。原来每一个人都拥有自行研经，正确掌握经文信息的能力。

虽然很多时候，我们阅读了很多属灵的书籍，听了不同的牧者的讲道信息，可是仿佛在灵里，我们却好像都得不到饱足。因为我们都处在“被喂养”spoon feed的里面。因为信息和书籍的资料，都是由作者或牧者研读出来的结果，并不是我们自已真正从圣经里看到或发现的亮光。因此这样会渐渐让我们对圣经少了感情，而且少了亲身的经历上帝话语的奥妙。感谢神，在《大灵班》里，藉着这些查经研经的训练，让我能以归纳法进行自行研经，正确掌握经文信息的能力。让我不再依靠第二手资料！而现在我可以经历上帝藉着圣经对我说话。

从台湾回来后，我在教会的细胞小组里，不但能有效的分享经文中的重点，而且在教会听道时，我也能有效率的吸收牧师所分享的信息，在家灵修时的读经，已不再是苦闷乏味，而是每一次都能读得津津有味，因为我已掌握了这归纳法读经。

研经不再是只有传道，牧师，长辈，父母和作者能作的。我们也能自行研经。研经并不难，有了技巧就变得很容易。

哈哈！先不告诉你，因为我会在6月的信义青年灵修营告诉你。

This hiking trip started of as just another relaxing day from work to me actually, I just wanted to give it a try and I thought it would be a good workout.

But during this hiking trip, I learn that it is a lot more than ‘just a workout’ I learn that we will notice a lots of things when we are in a different environment, or when we are in a different situation. One of the things I learn most of the time we love to set a limit for our self, we always think that fat people can’t do this, or short people can’t do that, but I learn that this is nothing but a lie we are telling our self, I learn that when we are able to keep our mind strong, our body can do many things that we think we can’t do. I didn’t expect that I am able the reach our destination, I thought that I will just maybe stop halfway and wait for the others to come down, but my partner just told me to focus on going as far as I can, so in my mind I was only thinking to reach as far as I could, but in the end I can reached our destination, its all in our mind.

Also on our way up, one of the team member asked this question, ‘why do people go on a hike? If its for workout we can just go to the gym right? If it’s the air then we can just drive up to some more developed mountains right? If it’s the nature then we can just go to a forest reserve or some nice part as well but why hiking?’ we were trying to get an answer for this question that we never really thought of it, then it just come up to me, it is because that when we go on a hike, it is a time to force our self, because when we are in the middle of a jungle, the only choice we have is to continue to walk, no matter is we choose to continue going up or we wanted to turn around and go back, there is only 1 way, and it is to walk

and we won’t be able to stop until we reach our destination.

Sometimes when we are given a choice, we tend to choose the easy path, and sometimes for us the grow and to be better, is to take away our choice, giving us no easy way, no backup plan, only 1 way and 1 only. I am glad that I joined this hiking trip and I am looking forward to the next one.

Hiking at “Gunung Nuang”

Here I would like to share about my experience to ‘Gunung Nuang’. Before going to this hiking trip, I know nothing about Gunung Nuang. What I know was just another mountain and it is the tallest mountain in the state of Selangor. However, I felt nothing special about the trip because I have quite a number of hiking experience during my past. In my previous hiking experience, I had gone to few other mountains in peninsula Malaysia. Therefore I know what hiking is all about although it was not really my thing but it does give me a good work out. On the day before the trip, I slept at 1am due to my work in my university. Having just 4 hours of sleep,I woke up at 5am and begin my journey to Petalling Jaya to meet up with pastor and others. We depart the gathering place and arrive at Gunung Nuang around 8:30am. After unloading all the things from the car, I realize all my friends and pastor were all suits up with their hiking gears and prepare to conquer the mountain while I was just with my usual laptop bag which I carried everyday to my class and an additional of a luggage bag which I use it when I’m going home (IPOH). That moment, I realize I was so not ready, hahahaha

ha….. However, I just act normal and began the journey with them.

On the journey up to the camp site which known as the “kem lolo” was a tiring experience. All of us carried our gears and walk up hill for around 2hours plus. I began to feel pain in my back and hand because I was not just carrying clothes, towels, toiletries, a tent, some medic and food but also 12 bottles of 500ml water which sums up to 6 litres of mineral water. Phewwww, think back, it was really a tiring experience. However, it was fun and challenging ^_^ At around 10:45am, we reached kem lolo and I was told to build up tents for overnight while others was assign to gather wood for camp fire and cooking at night. After finishing all the task given, I was told again that we are going up (continue the journey to the peak) after 10minutes. I was shock and said to myself, are you kidding me??? So fast??? I had not eaten anything since last night. Lucky before the journey, I got a yogurt bar from Pastor Calvin. Then I ask Hewson how long will it take to reach the top and come down? He replied me with a shocking answer. He said around 6 hours!!!!!!!!! Then how about lunch? Oh no. I had never hike for so long in my previous experience. But never mind, I know I can make it because sometimes I did miss my breakfast, lunch and dinner but I do need a late dinner if I miss them. Haha. Without thinking, I took a bottle of water and a packet of tiger biscuit and went up the mountain with Allan, Carl and Neil as first team.

We started the journey ahead of the others. During the journey, I was learn that the mountain have few stages through Alan. The first stage was the “Kem Bawah Lolo” then the second stage was the “Kem Lolo”. Then continue by the third stage “Kem Pacat”, fourth stage “Puncak Pengasih” and last but not least the “PEAK-Summit Nuang”. The path to the peak from Kem Lolo was so tired, it was much more worst than the journey from the bottom of the hill to Kem Lolo. There were areas where we need to climb over trees and rocks to get through. It was really tiring, hungry and thirsty. After reaching “Kem Pacat”, my face almost Pucat. We took a few minutes break and drink a bit of water (Water running dry) and continue on the journey to Puncak Pengasih. Puncak Pengasih was very cold and the mist was huge. It also gives a feeling like raining due to the humidity and the temperature at the point of the mountain. We took another few minutes break there before heading to the last point, the PEAK. The path to the peak was muddy and wet, our shoes were filled with mud and the feeling was terrible. However, at last we manage to reach to the peak. Once we reached, I said to myself, Yes, I have successfully conquered Gunung Nuang!!! At the peak, we share an orange, took some biscuit and drink a little bit of water before heading back to Kem Lolo. The journey back was a rush because we were asked to return to the Kem Lolo before 6:30pm due to safety purpose.

The sky will start to turn dark at 7pm and it will be fully pitch black at 8pm. We did manage to reach back on time and I was so happy when I saw the waterfall. I quickly grap my towel and shampoo and jump into the waterfall. The water was cold but it was a very nice moment. After washing up, we took dinner together and enjoy the “yumcha” session together. I was surprise that we have different kind of drinks such as Nescafe, Milo, Ipoh White Coffee and even Holicks. It was really a fun and enjoyable time. Overall, the trip was awesome and interesting, having seen the beauty of the nature and the living creatures in the jungle.... However, on the journey to the peak, I realize that the most beautiful thing is us "Human being". God created us so wonderfully that no matter how tough is the journey, how bad is the path, how steep is the mountain, how dirty you will get, the tiredness, the thirst for water, the hunger for food, and yet we still manage to get over it, push to the peak and come down safely. Just imagine yourself and the size of a mountain with 1498M height (4898ft). The awesome thing is that you are able to go up and come down. That's the beauty of God creation "Human Being". That's us.

Firstly , it thought me that we must work together as a team to progress and complete our task. Secondly , it made me realize that we must have a purpose in our life if not we are nothing. Adventure Camp :Hewson Leong

The recent 4D3N camp at Lakeview was one which I was looking forward to. It was great and went beyond expectations. The indoor games were very original and creative, apart from teaching us many many things. The outdoor games were really fun and it encourages teamwork among the youths. The small things in camp, sharing dorms with friends from other churches, sitting with your team for meals together, the cold showers, morning runs... They all add up to the whole wonderful experience.

After the camp, some members of my church became more enthusiastic and outspoken, compared to their old quiet self. We would like to thank all the organisers and trainers who made it all possible.

Adventure Camp :Anson Ng

First of all, i would like to thank the organizers, pastors, camp officers and all the campers. Besides, i would like to thank Sonia , auntie Annie and my sister for allowing me to realise that this camp is worth going and also a very worthwhile experience.
I really had fun and enjoyed the camp very much; although the food was not enough .
Through the camp, i have learnt many things, but the one that made the most impact is teamwork. Teamwork is important everywhere even when I’m playing basketball .

Moreover, it has taught me to cooperate better with one another. What i have learnt from my BROTHER! - Jarald . That is to persevere through everything and anything. He showed me a good example through his actions by pushing someone when we were going for the 3.4km jog.

In a nut shell, this camp make me know the purpose of life and make me a better and stronger person.

Adventure Camp :Jarald Wong

Before I decided go for this Adventure Camp, I was feeling uneasy. Every time I think about it, I tend to say "no, I don't want to go." In the end, I finally decided to go. There are many things I learned from this camp. I learned to be more patience, when things aren't going as I expected. I didn't know I can be as patience as I am before. Moving on, everything we did in the camp requires teamwork, strategy and plannings! I realized anything we did there in that camp, we can't do it on our own, we must do everything as a team.

Another thing really made me think was finding my purpose of life. I really had a great time thinking about it. I'm looking forward for more camps like this, it really helped me spiritually and mentally. I thank God for this wonderful opportunity I could attend this awesome Adventure Camp! God bless!

我们每一年开学都会为自己添购很多参考书，教科书，字典。可是每当每个学年结束的时候，这些书本就被我们丢掉或是卖给2手书商。对在城市的我们来说，这是旧书，已经没有价值了。

可是在金马伦高原的山上有一群孩子，与你我一样，也是需要这些的书，可是他们没有能力购买，就算是政府的借书计划，也只允许他们在学校里读而已。他们不能把这些书本带回家，因此他们不能有很好的学习环境。

今天我们既然可以拥有都是上帝的赐予与怜悯，所以希望我们可以把这个福气带给他们。

信义会蕉赖11哩堂~让爱走动嘉年华会-Wilson

08-10-2011星期六对大家来说也许这只是平常天，普通的日子，

可是对居住在蕉赖11哩新村的居民却是一个历史的一天，

为什么呢？

因为这是蕉赖11哩新村53年来，第一次有这么大型的嘉年华会，

何解形容大呢？看看照片你就知道。

算不算大型呢？哈哈

这个是义卖会的全景，

当天的义卖会有50个档口，包括卖吃的，喝的，摆美的，艺术的等等。。。

义卖会从早上11点开始一直到下午4点才结束，

在义卖进行的时候，下午2点也有《亲子设计脚踏车比赛》

让大家利用不要了的物品，创意的装饰脚踏车。

在下午1点多时突然间下起了倾盆大雨，

大家心想Opps....

可是大雨只下了大概半个小时就停了，感谢主。。。

下午4点义卖会结束了，

过后就有幼儿园的孩子们（4-6岁）他们的表演，

虽然人小小，可是他们也很卖力，

幼儿园的老师当然也不差啦，

放下平时严肃的老师样，

跳了一支让大家大跌眼镜的舞蹈，

谢谢爱(ai) FM的两位主持人把现场的气氛都搞到最High了。。。

表演结束后，大家都以为要结束了，

可是真正的节目才正要开始，也是大家最期待的，

那就是《踩街》游行，

晚上还有许多精彩的表演，实在太丰富了，

多到无法形容的完。。。

整个嘉年华会一直到晚上9点才真是宣告结束，

这次的嘉年华会能够顺利的举行当让要谢谢大家的配搭，才能够顺利地进行。

我相信全场最兴奋，

RUN FOR THE NATION 2011 was a meaningful run for me. Even though it was only 5km, but it contained many folds of purpose.

In this 5km run, I began to feel the exhaustion after a short distance. I was even tempted to get into our Team Manager's car to take a short rest. However, I knew the true meaning for this run and i couldn't afford to give up so easily. Furthermore, I was holding on to the strength that our prayer has given me. Our team kept our prayers close

to the love for our country, political situations and everything that crossed our mind during the run. It was the least we could do to show our contribution to our country through prayer.

The power of prayer is stronger than anything in this world, because GOD is listening to our prayers at all times; it is only through prayer that we are are

able to consistently keep in touch with God.

During the run, I felt that GOD was watching us from heaven and was encouraging us to keep running for a good cause. He also blessed us with good weather during that early 5.40am run. All these motivated me to keep pushing myself with the strength that God has given me to keep taking another step forward. At about 6.30a.m, we finally completed our run. Deep in my heart I know that it is not the end, but rather a start of a longer run to a destination with a greater purpose from God.

We should always remember to pray for our country and for all that is around us; at all times in all places. Sometimes we might feel tired and exhausted or even feel like we want to give up during this long run in our lives, but be rest assured that there is always someone that God has sent to us to cheer us up and run hand in hand with us in His encouragement.

Sunway Youth Sunday 2011

LCMS Sunway Congregation has been a big part of my life for a very long time. Back then, growing up with the others was all about fun and games. When we eventually joined the youth ministry, it was the unfolding of many events. We used to have more Friday night fellowships on a monthly basis instead of the current weekly fellowship (if I remember correctly) and back then it was all about sitting down in circles, learning basic theology, singing praise songs and sharing.

Eventually we had youth camps, outings, visitations and random activities. During this ‘era’, it was more to bonding with one another and not active involvement in the youth ministry yet. Our numbers remained virtually the same for a period of time. When we started to become young leaders, it was a different world altogether. I remember nights of meetings and brainstorm sessions with our mentors to come up with activities for the youth. Over the years, there has been many challenges, setbacks, lessons and blessings here and there. A few of the ‘original’ members left (leaders and non-leaders) eventually but we still went on.

As for LCMS Sunway Congregation, we are pushing towards growing, both in all our spiritual growths and our numbers. Our weekly youth fellowship session every Saturday has definitely seen the gradual growth in many of us (especially the youn

ger ones). However if you ask me personally, I think we are still very far from our target and are still left behind in many aspects.

Recently we had our annual Youth Sunday event (I’m 19 this year) and I noticed how different things really were. It was just like yesterday where we will run upstairs to skip the sermon but here we are now, conducting a Sunday service in full force. It is a beautiful and slow process for all of us; young leaders being trained up to serve the Church. Now we have our members as musicians serving on Sundays, being the ushers, serving at the PA corner and many more. It is all God’s grace, guidance and blessings that allowed us to come so far.

Thanks to Pastor Calvin, there are currently many programs aimed at building up young leaders for LCMS. Our church is active in participating in such activities and we believe it will all yield bountiful crops in due time, increasing the number of serving members and believers in our midst.

Hi everybody! I am Yi Pei from Sunway Lutheran Church. I’ve been in this youth for 3 years and we have our Youth Sunday every year but what I can say is that this year’s Youth Sunday is the best that I’ve ever had. Its not because that we have more performances this year but I truly feel that each and every youths are growing even myself. During the preparations and practices, I felt that we are growing to be more mature, responsible, serious and spiritual-like youths. Looking back to 2 years ago, I was shy and quite an unsociable person. It’s like there is always a invincible wall that block me from reaching them. However, their warmth had slowly tear down that wall and I began to change into a more outspoken person. I always thank God that althoug

h our youth is not a perfect youth but it’s a youth that suits me perfectly.

感谢神!五林高手这节目在昨天顺利地进行~哈哈!

我们要献上感恩!主是垂听我们的祷告,他一直与我们同在!

昨天，上帝赐给我们有一个美好的天气，没有在早上下雨，而在下午节目完毕后才下起雨来。虽然是Malaysia Day但是感谢神交通是非常顺畅的!参加者能准时的抵达DR Park,没有拖延时间。有差不多30位从JB,Melaka,PJ,KL,万挠等地的弟兄姐妹平安地到来怡保参与五林高手这節目。Station master能把

游戏带出。Marshal也能和他们自己的组员有

很好的沟通，共度了一个难忘的上午与下午。

2位MC (Peter and 慧娴）可以透过PA system和音乐带起整场的气氛，还创了一个很特别的口号（抱歉!我不会，请问Peter)。总务能把他的任务完成。在DR Park庆幸的是我们都没有受到蜜蜂的干扰。从DR Park 去Tesco和回到H

oly Trinity Church的那段路程，动用了八辆bus。wow~很壮观!(希望下次有更多的非信徒参加）至于在Tesco那，虽然接到了投诉，但一切都还好。看着每一位参加者为了闯关而拼命冲的样子，我们也要有那股动力。为着福音的缘故，冲啊!回到教会就是关键时刻。

就这样，五林高手这节目落幕了。我们的辛苦和用了那么多的时间筹备这节目是值得的!而且从鹏丰老师和Pastor Linda那学到了很多很多的东西也成长了不少!Amen

还有最重要的是上帝让我们看到了-“能”！我们“能”，有超过我们目标的人数，有很好的反应!之前，我们只要120位参加者，还带着战战兢兢的心情。

最后，五林高手这节目得到了热烈的反应。从120位参加者增加到现在有270位!上帝证明给我们看，“是，行的!"

感谢!献上我们的感恩。五林高手已有270位参加者!在筹备这项节目时，我们都一直担心人数的问题，但上帝让圣灵动工，让我们的人数不断的增加。

每一次的会议中，所讨论的事情都离不开宣传，节目，交通，场地，布道，栽培等等的问题。上帝都一直与我们同在，他带领我们跨过了重重困难与障碍。

2011年的6月25日，我们到Ipoh Parade进行街头布道。7月3日在圣三一堂召集了一些会堂的弟兄姐妹出席当天的宣传日。教导他们如何向身边的朋友介绍五林高手这一个好消息!同时，我们也在8月7日（星期日）进行了布道训练和栽培训练。用着上帝赐给我们的手指向与人传福音以及学习如何进行栽培训练。在这些过程中，感谢神，YFC的弟兄姐妹都一直在我们的声旁教导我们如何筹备这节目，让我们都获益不浅!

来临的星期六（8月27日）就是我们彩排的大日子!求神带领我们，彩排进行顺利。能够为916五林高手来临之前，做充分的准备!由于我们的组长与工作人员的人数都不足够，所以请为这代祷，让上帝为我们预备这一切!同时，也请各位弟兄姐妹为着每一位参加者代祷!让非信徒能够更加地认识上帝，相信他，并信靠他!我们深信靠着那加给我们力量的，凡事都能做!

让我们一起期待916五林高手的到来!

饥饿30 回忆~Terence 基督堂

六秒有多快呢?10,9,8,7,6,…数着数着，很快就六秒了。六秒，很短暂，可是当数的同时，已经有一个孩童饿死了。

这次是我第二次参与饥饿三十，还是和往年一样，又做小组长 >.<。虽然活动和第一次的差不多，但透过幻灯片，短片，还是感触良多。当我们看到了别人因为没有食物吃而饿肚子时，我们还在想等下要吃什么；当别人为了水而走上几公里的路时，我们却让水白白的留去；当别人为了有食物，有水喝而感恩时；我们却在埋怨食物难吃而丢掉。最记得影片的一句话: The water look okay but it’s not okay. 是否我们应该珍惜用水呢？

饿三十个小时，对我们来说很不简单(饥饿勇士们，用你们的右手拍拍你们的肩膀说:”你真棒”)。试想想，有时只是饿那几个小时就呱呱叫了，可是这次却能忍着饿撑到最后,感觉很Amazing =)。

10,9,8,…3,2,1。开斋咯。。。喝着Vsoy的那一刻，很感恩，感恩我们是幸福的一群。 =)

30 hours Famine Testimony - Pamela CLC

30 Hour Famine, means hungry for 30 hours. When you heard this, it looks like very hard to pass, I mean survive.

But, it is not.
Well, there are few things that really impact me.
One of the thing that really impact me is What does pipe water mean to you? We living in a society where we think our pipe water is STILL full of germs, or microorganism, and so on. But, When one of the session where they show us a video clip of how the people get their water, I suddenly realize that the water we had is not that dirty at all. Remember what the MC told us about the video clip that the water they get is not even clean with detergent. Our pipe water is clean with at least detergent by Indah Water or whatever company. And some of us even have filter at our home. For them, they need to use at least 2 hours to walk to the place and start to dig a hole to get their water. And after that, they need to carry the water back to their house.The road they walk is not a straight road or a tar road. Is a road that full of rocks, small sharp stone, and full with plant that has thorn. And they are walking without shoe. We only need to walk to out kitchen or our toilet and we can get clean water. We don't need to walk to a place to start digging to get our water. So, we should appreciate and not waste the water we are having now.

It is meaningful to join this camp. Besides learning or experiencing or get to know what happen around the world, we also do have lots of fun and knowing new friends.
Quite a lot of first time I had in the 30 hour famine. First time sleeping in an open air, first time being in a 'concert', first time building my own 'house', and of course first time hungry for 30 hours.
It is not as tough as I thought. I easily pass through the 30 hours. Of course, the toughest moment will be the last 10 minutes when they start to distribute our break-fast snack. The smell of the soy bean and also the bread, it really makes the 10 minutes so long. But at last, i went through.

I thank God that He give me the chance to join this 30hour famine. It is not only about the fun, but it is about the people that is suffering. As student, we do not have to do something that is out of our strength, we can choose to join this camp one year once, at least we get to help people that is in need.

Orang Asli children Library Project : Alvin Tan(Holy Trinity L.C.)

On the 15^th June to17^th June 2011, I had an awesome experience with the Orang Asli in Cameron Highlands. I went there with few other Lutheran youth leaders and pastors to visit the orang asli in kampung Batu 20. Besides just visitation, we also went there for a community project.

A library project was told to setup in that Orang Asli kampung. A library will enable their children to have a suitable place to study after their school hours. Besides that, they will have reference books to refer and exercise books to do rather than just their own school text books. Story books, encyclopaedias, languages books were also brought to the library for the children to gain extra knowledge. Later on, I found out that the library not only for the Batu 20 Orang Asli village but also for few other villages nearby. This will able the villages to build up the relationship within each other and learn together. “What an awesome thing to do”

During the three days, we help to clean up the library, arrange the books, clean up their village church, play with the children as well as giving them tuition classes. By giving them tuition classes, we found out that most of their children were not well educated. They seriously need people especially youths to go over and help them in their studies. I haven’t seen any children so eager to learn than them but unfortunately they do not have enough people to educate them and guide them. There were so many children with different age and different level of

knowledge but only one “cikgu” (teacher) in the village to teach them after school hours. We are glad to help them but the best part was I’m able to be their teacher on that day and also was my first time being called as “cikgu” (such a wonderful experience). On top of that, we also played games with them and cook milk for all the children, they were very happy and hope that we can stay longer. For all of us know,

studies is very important for all youths and children, it teaches us how to be a better person, provide us knowledge and prepare the future ahead of us.

It also goes to the Orang Asli brother and sisters; in fact they need much more than we do. Therefore, I urge all youths to offer up their time to visit them as well as help them and create an impact in their lives. As youth, we may not have money to help them financially but we can offer up our time to spend with them. I was not regret to go for this trip even though I skipped 9 hours of my lecture classes. Let us not be selfish and just care about ours

elves but to step out from our comfort zone to care about others and think for them. We are one family in Christ (^_^).

我是来自芙蓉区的信义会芙蓉堂，在教会，大家叫我健义，大约介绍，我们这里的年轻人，或青少年，加起来大约从2006年每个主日都有8到十个，到现在都有15到16人左右。虽不多，可是我们每一位，弟兄姐妹都是曾一起度过酸甜苦辣一切的，因此可说是非一般的弟兄姐妹，而犹如

自己的兄弟姐妹般。

我最后一次参加的信义青年活动是2004年，是一个在cameron highland举办第一届全国信义青

年领袖营，之后独自搭火车，再转巴士进来cheras的9哩堂（还是11哩堂，我忘了，抱歉）为了是再次和大家集聚，赞美上帝，与其他来自不同教会的弟兄姐妹继续分享.那现在的确是有点生疏了，因之后基于忙碌，而无法参加信义青年活动了。

那么今天想分享的是其他事项，

前天我的一位伯伯，修理motor的，平时是一位开朗的弟兄，下雨天，不知何故从摩多摔下被好心友族送进医院。我和爸一路到医院都祷告，我也告诉自己，若上帝需要我做任何东西，我愿意。。。就这样镇定的去紧急室，看到伯伯躺在那，我的心说，主啊，求你怜悯这位弟兄！

进院X-ray后，左脸骨少许碎裂

，脾脏(spleen)已确定坏了，而这个spleen主要功能是储存和过滤血液，一旦遇到大冲击，spleen是很容易破裂，也是其中一个腹部致死的其中一个器官。那么整个过程，的确和香港剧情一样，医生告诉他的配偶，需要立

刻动手术止内血，签一堆纸。当时都是用英语或者马来文交流，我这个法文语言系毕业的，运用经验和上帝的信心，当起伯伯配偶的翻译员。

签完纸，也了解高风险的手术，他们就独自交谈了一阵子，我在外听到，他们都一直鼓励对方“一切都感恩上帝，上帝与我们同在、你要祷告啊，我们会在外为你

祷告的！”

伯伯的教会弟兄姐妹，几乎每隔几分钟，总会到达现场，一起受冰冷的冷气，等待手术结束。。。

两小时的手术后，已经度过威胁生命的危机，大家都放心了，第一时间都一起感恩祷告，不同神学观念，却能一起同心的祷告，是我最期待的一件事。。。

我从中体会，

1）相信神！

我相信大家曾经历都会在慌乱紧张时候，会有反应不来的情况，可是在这次的事件，我有上帝的平安，带领看顾一切，我也的确感受，也看到上帝在每一刻彰显大爱，除了众弟兄姐妹的平安，还没信主的亲戚也开始询问关于上帝，耶稣是谁等，都是感谢上帝的。

2）哥林多前書十二章

“肢体虽多，乃是一体”，虽然我和伯伯的教会拥有不同神学观点，可是在危机，或许是上帝所赐的一切情况事情，上帝依然都会在我们当中，把我们大家都奏和在一起祷告，同样同心感恩上帝。

你或许知道，捐血可新陈代谢，可是你是否知道，你一包血，救的人可能是一个人以上，所以恳请健康符合条件的青少年弟兄姐妹，多捐血！血，是大马血库一直面对不足够的问题，所以，请你们多捐血！

在此有些我无法完整想表达想说的，但是，弟兄姐妹，你要知道，无论何时何况，请善用上帝所赐给你的一切，去尽你可以的去做不可思议/mission impossible。尤其是健康的青少年，从你看完这篇分享，放下你的仇恨，放下你持有的己见，去分享，去接纳你的弟兄。我们也必须承认我们也是罪人，所以恳请上帝原谅。

飢餓三十人道救援行動，簡稱飢餓三十，香港稱饑饉三十，是世界宣明會（台灣稱為世界展望會）為了幫助世界各地受到天災人禍、疾病威脅的人免於痛苦的活動。活動名稱的命名，來自聖經中禁食禱告的原意，親身感受飢餓，體會遭逢不幸者的感覺。世界上第一個飢餓三十活動，是1971年一群加拿大的青少年，在亞伯達省卡加利市的一所教會中，體驗36小時禁食，來為衣索比亞的飢民募款。

已经是第3次参加这个活动了~

每一次参加都有不同的领受

还记得第一次参加时候是2008年，普通营员身份，也还未信主

也因为参加了之后，慢慢开始接触教会，然后信了主

从那个时候开始，自己也就下了决定

不再胡乱浪费食物，就算再难吃都好，也都一律吃下肚

第二次是2009年，被选做小组长

带领着一班不认识的人一起玩游戏

认识了不少人，在当中也领悟到更多

这一次2011年，傻傻的乱答应人做了game master/programmer

过程真的是压力到~也在筹备时候出现负面情绪

一直担心这样担心那样，怕当天会搞砸了整个营会

不过好彩真的感谢神一切非常顺利，而且也增加了经验

每个人都称赞很好玩，我听了这句简直爽到飞天

我带来的几个朋友也没令他们失望，还说要再参加 =D

不过这些都不是重点，重点是这个饥饿30要带出来的信息

我其实相信很多人，来这个营其实目的就只是玩，或者另有目的

但是我不理开始是抱着什么目的和心态都好

我都希望全国参加的几千个营员们

透过这个活动有很大的领受和明白要带出来的信息

珍惜生命，珍惜身边的所有一切，抱着梦想，朝着未来信心出发

每次看到饥饿影片，看到那些儿童状态

有时会不禁骂自己，我算的了什么？

自己根本就是身在福中不知福叻！

所以希望全国营员，不要只是来玩而已，希望你们真的学到东西，好好应用在生活当中，不要自私自利，付出更多一点点的爱给身边的人，爱不分宗教，不分国家，不分种族，不分肤色，把爱传达给全世界！ =D

Orang Asli Children Library Project : Hewson Leong (Sunway)

When was the last time you gave your time to another person? Your own time of rest and enjoyment, given to other people for greater purposes. Give it a good ponder as you read the following story, especially if you are currently a student.

Last December, many of us received the opportunity to experience something very interesting and beneficial. Imagine a group of young people going to an Orang Asli village in Cameron Highlands, and they stayed there, sleeping on solid ground with only candles and lamps as light source. Adventurous? There is much more to that. We collected many unwanted books from our friends and family to be donated to the orang asli children. We then successfully set up a small library for the children there.

A few months ago in June 2011, I had the opportunity to revisit Kampung Batu 20 again. My first thought when I saw the library was "How often do the children spend their time reading these books?" It was very organised and clean (which is a good thing of course) but somehow it looks as if the library was barely accessed to. Soon many questions in my mind were answered when the children returned from their schools and spent some time doing their homework with us.

I was shocked to know that many of them who are in the age group of 8 to 11 were still using fingers to count when solving mathematics questions. This is a serious concern for you and me, and a strong message of what the children need. If this situation remains the way it is, it is very unlikely that the orang asli children will be able to enter the modern fields of today's many industries and remain in their villages as farmers, labourers and other relatively low paying jobs.

Why? You may ask. Why does it matter? They can remain there and maintain their humble lifestyles, right? However, what the general public is unaware of is that in many of the orang asli villages today still lack many basic needs such as a clean water supply, nutrition and education. While we go about with our own lives and often complain about so many things, we do not realise that the things which we take for granted are great blessings for the orang asli community. That feels unfair, right? They too are all God's children and deserve more.

Now that you know, are you willing to step out and make a change? The magnitude of touching a person's life, even if it is little, cannot be expressed by words. You have the strength and resources available to improve the lives of many out there. The next time such an opportunity knocks at your door, you know what to do.

"Evil triumphs when good men do nothing". We don't want that, do we?

Public Speaking workshop Assistant Coach : Sonia Chang

I once wrote based on a participant's perspective during the first public speaking workshop, but now I will be writing based on an assistant trainer’s point of view. Frankly speaking, being an assistant trainer may seem less stress than what the participants' went through, because we do not have to think about whether our turn's up, or crack our heads on what to speak about next. Nevertheless, as an assistant trainer, there are responsibilities that we held on to. Being one is a step forward and for that, it is not about how to speak with passion and conviction of that sort, or even when to stand and face the crowds and judges. This time it was being able to analyse every aspect of each participant's way of presenting, and judge them accordingly to what they are lacking in, have improved, or their strongest points.

As a first timer, being able to play the role of an assistant trainer was an honour. I felt excited, and enthusiastic yet nervous, that I won’t be able to perform fully as one. It wasn’t an easy task to stand up to either criticize, or convey what we want to the public speakers, because I was once in their shoes. I knew how difficult it is to repeat or grab the audiences’ attention which is just some of the few requirements a

mong the many. It took a bit of courage to show them that by sharpening their rough edges, they may go home transformed.

Just like how the public speakers felt having to sacrifice most of their sleep until they get it right, the same went for me. I realize that being an assist. trainer was slightly challenging as I had to make sure that I was awake, and listening to each and every speaker so to be prepared to give comments.

All in all, a special thank you to Reverend Calvin and Mr. Terence for having the confidence in me, and teaching me how to hold a role as an assistant trainer, for the first time through this public speaking. Also a special thanks to Alan and Zen for guiding me throughout the 3 days. I have learned a lot through how I should judge, or convey what we felt about the speakers regardless it is a positive, or negative feedback. I hope that there will be more to come so that I will improve as time passes and continue to be taught.

Orang Asli children Library Project : Sonia Chang(Sunway L.C.)

The trip to Cameron Highlands from the 15^th till 17^th of June 2011 was an eye opening for me. I realized that throughout the day spent with the Orang Asli at Kampung 20, the library project didn't just become a project that we were told to do by Rev Calvin. The lack of education is what became more important than just the books we can provide. These children as I've observed are eager in learning but unfortunately, there are not enough people to guide them so that they can progress further in their studies. While teaching them, what touched me was how they had an open heart in gaining knowledge. These children are bright just like all the rest of the children out there, but the opportunities they are given are so limited. What I personally can see from the day trip is that we need willing youths to come in, and assist in this area because the few of us alone, is not enough to nurture the

m. The children are more than happy when it comes to learning from us because they know that we are trying to help them whole heartedly. If studies and having sufficient education is essential for us, what more is it important for these kids who need a brighter future ahead?

I really hope that as youths of today or whoever that are willing to provide the kids' a helping hand, will work together to make learning a better place for them. Let us not just care about ourselves but the people around that are calling for us.

在两年前，我的教会曾举办第一次的Public Speaking训练，而且是免费的，但我却错失了这个机会。两年后的今天，再次有这个Public Speaking的训练，为了要学习说话技巧，我就下定决心掏腰包来参加这个满有挑战性的Public Speaking训练。

第一天到达了训练的场地，感觉到没怎么样，只带着平常心去学习。当一开始的时候，评审给了我们两分钟来介绍自己，当我在介绍自己时，竟然不到两分钟，发现原来我真的不是很了解自己。接下来要分享“如何在都市发展与森林砍伐找到平衡”。为了要说长一些，就讲了一篇很长的开场白故事，不但没有讲到重点，反而超时了！

到了第三个主题“为何祷告”，真正的考验来了。在分享的过程中，我屡次遇到种种的挫折与失败。在分享的整个架构，连接性，声音控制和姿势都表现得很不理想。在我最弱的方面，莫过于声音音量的协调，毕竟一路来我说话都不会很大声，如果要有高低音对我来说实在难上加难，我还对观众笑说自己的声音像蚂蚁一样渺小。我还以为三天的训练里都要分享同样的主题“为何祷告”因要不断的“Redo”！当我感到伤心绝望时，曾想过要放弃，但我没这么做，却鼓起勇气向神祷告，求神向我启示为何要祷告。过后神给了我一个答案，原来祷告能从神支取“改变的力量”,改变我们目前的状况。我之所以要祷告，是因为不想再“Redo”,而是要“Pass” !感谢神，经过九次的分享，我终于Pass了！我也感谢评审们耐心的给我指导。

Pass了之后，我对自己说接下来的主题要分享的比之前更好！感谢神，让我能顺利的过关进入到最后的阶段。最后的主题是分享“我如何在青少年当中成为一个有影响力的人”。虽然我本身是少年人的导师，评审也说我分享这主题对我很有优势，但是，在分享的过程中，我却不能够分享一个有影响力的讯息。评审不断向我启示要有“Passion"的心去分享，但我却表现的中等，这也令评审们有点左右为难，不知道该不该给我Pass。虽然我很想pass和拿到文凭，但心中觉得自己没有做到最好。感谢神，因评审们愿意给我最后一次机会，要我分享两分钟关于“意义”的主题。在分享的时候，让我想起了自己过去的生活, 我从小父母就去世了，那时的我觉得活在这世上很没有意义，但自从初中三接受了耶稣成为我的救主后，我活着就有了盼望和意义。在分享的时候，我感觉到神好像藉着圣灵对我说话，神再次肯定的对我说他爱我，我就禁不住大哭了起来！神同时也让我领悟到，要影响青少年和做传福音的工作，必须要有“Passion”的心才能够生命影响生命和把人带到神面前！

感谢神，让我完成了Public Speaking的训练并拿到文凭！我相信神让我经历了这三天的训练，以后我必能被神大大的使用，Amen!

想当初要参加Public Speaking Workshop (PSW)时，我的目的是为了想突破我自己！曾经的我害怕在观众面前演讲，但如果要被神使用的话就要经过训练，才可以成为神使用的器皿。然而，当一天一天要靠近的时候，我开始慢慢地紧张和压力,甚至还想要用借口放弃参加。但我们的神是得胜的，战胜了魔鬼给我的想法。感谢主让我参加这次PSW以及在这三天里有不少的突破！

我突破之一是我从没这样放开我自己来分享我信主的见证。在“为何祷告”的题目里，我从没打算分享我信主的见证，然而trainer给的comment是：“你的经

历在哪里？” 当时的我，就在想说我是在祷告中经历神无数的恩典，那么我为何不在这次的机会中，把荣耀归给祂！所以我分享了我的见证。我从没为了pass来祷告，但我把我的见证放在祷告中，希望可以影响他们。过后，当我们在休息中，某一位弟兄来告诉我，我的见证有感动他!当时的我已经知道神在答复我的祷告，感谢主！所以我会继续地用我的见证来影响其他人！

然后在过程当中，我慢慢地发现我自己开始的进步了。看着trainer给的comment,去想办法地改进自己。其实要一边演

讲，一边走位，一边记内容，注意音调还有面部表情，还要与听众制造火花和眼神接触对我来说是真的真的真的很难办得到。因为我不是在这方面很有才华，所以没有自信地想过自己可以越过全部。然而，谢谢trainer的教导和给我信心，神把我以为自己的不能变成能！

Terence说神在这三天是不会回应我们的祷告，但是神就在我们身边，当祂看到我们有一点点的进步时，祂会拍手说：“孩子，你做得很好，继续加油！”谢谢trainer的教导，会把你们的教导放在心中，继续地改进自己！感谢主，让我突破我自己的不能！

OPENING：没有那么容易的~会压力到躲在厕所的~那个谁谁很凶的~你会怕到跑回家的bla bla bla(build rapport)~其实我自己本身是一个很喜欢接受训练的人，PUBLIC SPEAKING很久之前听过了，但是一直没机会参加，直到这次有这个机会。但是又听到上面那些的对话，本来有要放弃的念头的，不过我。。。最后还是参加啦，哈哈哈 ^^

CONTENT:说真的，其实我还是蛮注重pass还是不pass的。虽然很多人都说这不重要，过程的学习最重要，我嘴巴也那么说，可是心里有时还会闪过：我一定要pass(开始手势)，一定要pass这个念头(tone放低)~不懂是好事坏事叻？哈哈！但是过程的学习还是很重要啦，经过这一次，我才知道原来单单只是在台上讲话，都要用到那么多的skill，什么走位

啊，手势啊，音调啊等等(开始cross road)，到后面竟然还来一个passion酱的东西=_=ll(1^st emphasis)在这三天过程当中，发觉到每个人都有改变，尤其是那些一开始来时候讲话小小声，我有时候都还怀疑他/她是不是在讲华语。但是最厉害的是，三天过后的表现，我不但确定他/她是在讲华语，而且还可以知道要表达的东西叻，这个p.speaking果然不是盖的，无形当中慢慢训练了人，型

啊(tone放高,2^nd emphasis)！当然我自己也是有少少突破，最大的突破就是：我的头发！几乎3年了，第一次把额头show到那么高！(切身体验)竟然还被Mr.Terence拍下照片，然后拿去隔壁房放给那两个助手笑一轮(3^rd emphasis)(╰_╯)#如果(1^st bring ring)不是为了要pass我是很难被说服去把头发梳那么高，哈哈。其实我头发还不至于长到需要这样做吧(@_@)，至少还很清楚看到两个眼睛咯>.<

CONCLUSION: (2^nd bring ring)这个真的是一个不错的经历，从头到尾的感觉都是一直在紧张>饿>紧张>累>紧张>累>饿，重重复复就是一直抱着这个状态过完3天，学习也真不少(punchline)。讲真，我真的很想。。。坐在Mr.Terence那个位子来给批评，我。。。有这个机会嘛？哈哈，问神吧~神ok我就Ok！(good ending)

Public Speaking Workshop June 2011: Darren Go

Sometimes in life, you face failures. You face obstacles that will make you feel weak. Now, imagine all those failures, all come together in just three days. Well, that is how the Public Speaking Workshop do to your mind.

To be honest, this is my SECOND attempt at this PSW. And yet, I failed. The last time I went, I barely made it through to the 4th topic. At the 4th topic, the expectations were HARDER, and more FRUSTRATING. The 1st attempt at the workshop, I went home during the 2nd night, still stuck on my 4th topic.
This time, I was stuck on my 3rd topic for THIRTEEN TORTURING ATTEMPTS. NO RAPPORT. NO EYE CONTACT. PLAY WITH YOUR TONE. NO EXPRESSIONS. Those were the words I hear a lot during these 13 times. Our 4th topic was “Inferiority Complex”. And I felt that I actually EXPERIENCED that throughout the camp. I’m a person who is scared of what other people might say. What other people would think of me. Throughout our speeches, the judges will make fun at all the slightest fun, sometimes you might even hear them laughing at the back. I felt terrified and so inferior that time; I actually felt my inferiority complex.
But, with all these sufferings and mind-torture, I felt that I have improved, not only in my speaking skills, but at least a BIT in my confidence. All these years in my church, I’m a nobody, just a regular church member. But now, I will MAKE myself confident enough to go back to my church, and MAKE the name DARREN GO be something of respect and oh-so-awesomeness.

去Public Speaking是我自己决定的，其实还没去之前我已经听说会很恐怖，但我还是接受挑战。。我一向来都很害怕上台讲话，因为我会很紧张到把我要带出的句子调乱不单单如此，有时连台下的人都会变得blur blur 不知道我想带出什么。结果来到Public Speaking才知道这毛病满容易治疗的。第一次不行，redo. 第二次不行，redo。。。直到pass 为至，什么毛病都被redo治好了。不单单如此我还发觉原来我满创意的，动物界的名称都快给我搬到台面上了，我连孔子都不放过还可以将他/它们都接去祷告。。可能opening让我想疯了。还好我吃的饱，睡的好，也没有想过要回家，对我来说这些考验是上帝要我受的，所以上帝比我更清楚我的能力去到哪里，所以是幸福的挑战。我最难的部分是等待（好像在等die），因为等到我都快忘了我要讲什么也不知道几时才到我。所以每当到我的时候我一定会漏了两三样要点忘了讲出来。不过还好，每次出去都会尽力讲完我记得的部分。我要谢谢每一位参赛者的鼓励，也要感谢牧师提供我那么便宜的训练，和导师们的评语。你们辛苦了，我相信你们的辛苦是没有白费的。。。Thank you very much….

P/S: 我上了Public Speaking后，在公司更pandai抗压了。

6月24 和25 日..是我人生中第一次说了那么多次“祷告”这句话。这两天也是我第一次承受着这么大的压力..压力什么?PUBLIC SPEAKING!!!!!第一次这个。。第一次那个。。我好像从24,25,26这三天里有好多个第一次＝）

说真的，我初初会报名参加public speaking workshop是因为我的朋友求我陪她参加的。那时候就这样答应了。可是到了public speaking的前一个星期，慧盈姐打给我说只有十五岁或以上才可以参加，而我的１４岁朋友当然就不能参加啦。。所以只有我和慧盈姐去。我也不知哪来的勇气，明知是很恐怖，却还想去。。我听牧师说去了的人都会有改变，在同一间房里听了同样的东西直到半夜都不会闷。。我更加不相信！我这一去，所有的不相信马上变成了相信。连我自己都下了一大跳！

第一天一去到那里，就要马上自我介绍２分钟。而我。哈哈，只介绍３０秒。这个Public speaking workshop一共有５个题目要做。只要ｐａｓｓ到完，就可以毕业了。我以为轻轻松松就可以过关，没想到在第三个题目时。。却把我从轻松的心情跌到压力很大又紧张又害怕的心情。我万万没想过原来听人说会压力到想回家是真的。。因为我在开始讲一个必须长达８分钟的题目：“祷告”。还没进到正题就被STOP了。评判comment我几句，我就要哭了。。第一天。。哭。。第二天。。也哭。。第三天了！最后一天我还是有哭。。现在想起来我好像是个哭包。。哈哈。

在这三天里，我虽然很紧张，害怕，但是我真的从中学了不少的东西。至少我可以有点点勇气在大众人面前说话，不会太紧张了。

NO RAPPORT!. .WHERE’s UR EYE CONTACT…NO TONE..NO PROJECTION！REDO!这种种的话，我已经听过上百遍了。。有时真的好好想就这样打电话叫妈妈载我回家。好想放弃。。REDO 8 次。。同个题目。。有点夸张！不过。。这就是事实。。但是我却在第八次REDO时PASS了。。真的好开心。。虽然到最后我没有毕业。。可是我却不后悔参加。。因为我真的吸取好多经验。。

还有啊，我在这里也有了很多新朋友。好开心。。如果有机会的话，我下次还会再去的。我很感谢评判的评语和朋友们的鼓励。。

我会在下一次DO MY BEST!!!...:)

噢。。还有想谢谢林诗翰牧师的鼓励和vitamin C！哈哈。

Before joining this workshop, pastor had been keeping to emphasis that it would be very stressful and tough. I never participated in public speaking in the past. In my mind, I was just wondering that what was so stressful to learn public speaking. Even though my English is not very good but speaking should not be a problem to me and I believe that I could put up with stress well. In order to prove myself and to improve my English, I decided to join this workshop.

Initially, it was just fine and I was able to cope with it. However, during the third assignment about bible, I failed 6 times! It was awkward to repeat the same topic for many times. When some of the participants who are much younger than me had passed and I still needed to ‘REDO’, stress started to build up. I felt like wanted to go home as I wondered why was I paying to torture myself. Nevertheless, I didn’t see anyone wanted to give up and just kept on trying very hard. This motivated me to persist and I got to improve myself after every failure. That assignment also gave a chance for me to contemplate my belief which I have been embracing it for so many years. ‘Learn from mistakes’ and ‘a smooth sea never made a skillful mariner’ are always so true.

Besides public speaking skills, I learnt to deal with successive failure, to view things from different perspective, to be responsive and to become a tougher person. This workshop is truly beneficial. Appreciate Rev. Calvin for his effort to organize this workshop and his good intention to distress us in order to train us up. Thankful to Mr Terence, Alan, Zen for their inspiring comments as well as all the trainers for their sleepless nights, supports and guidances. Thank you Pastor Faye for her companion and shirt. Grateful to all the participants who accompany me to go through the three hard days.

感谢神让我有机会参加这个public speaking workshop. 这真是一个千载难逢的机会。三天里有十多个人陪你一起承受压力，一起吃不下、睡不安，够难得吧…哈哈…

其实，我在很久以前就已风闻这个workshop 所给于的压力------是蛮多的。但自己体验之后才知道原来精彩的事情也多的很。就比如上课的时候，虽然每个人都有着同样的题目，但是却从没有两个人的演讲是一模一样的。从同学们的演讲中，才知道原来同一个题目可以有这么多不同的开场白。不但如此，当时间越来越逼近，同学们的“花招”更是层出不穷。除此之外，虽然三天的时间很短，没有什么交谈的时间，但却可以接着同学们在演讲中分享到有关自己个人的经历而更加的彼此认识。

我也非常感激导师们用心良苦的教导。每次当我感觉很疲累的时候，我就会看着导师们，告诉自己他们比我还累，但为什么他们的样子看起来比我还要精神？他们是我提起颈继续努力的榜样，希望有一天我也能像他们那样讲话可以那么的吸引人。

遗憾的是，我并没有过关。最后一个的题目：我如何在青少年当中成为一个有影响力的人，需要讲长达十五分钟但我只讲了七分钟。这真是让我觉悟到虽然自己是个青年人，却是从来没有想过要在青少年中如何去作一个有影响力的人。因为对我而言，自己向来就不是一个有影响力的人。可是，这个题目提醒了我，应该要把握机会去影响我身边的人。无论是教会里的青少年或是我身边的朋友。毕竟每个人只有一次年轻的机会。就是在这个时候我才能以学生的身份来传福音，而如果我能将这三天里所学的用在传福音和教导的事工里，那会是多好。所以演讲训练工作坊虽然已经结束，却是我一个崭新的开始。希望大家能在祷告中记念。

“Next up, NG AN JIE.” Whenever I hear my name being called, my heart would just skip a beat. I was well aware that these 3 days of Public Speaking Camp was going to be stress, tense, pressuring and nerve-wreaking. Even days before the camp started, my heartbeat will increase in tempo when I thought of myself, speaking in front of an unfamiliar crowd. Even so, I still join this camp because I want to take up the challenge, overcome my fear and to learn as much as I can. Low self confidence was what I always have so imagining myself graduating from the camp would be a great breakthrough, I thought. Because if I pass, I can prove to my brothers and friends that if I can do it, they can too.

Without even realizing myself, passing became my main concern and the fact that all from my church who joined the previous camp passed made me even stressed up. There was this point when the pressure came to a peak while I was preparing my 2^nd attempt for my final assignment. My mind suddenly went blank, I cannot concentrate and I did not know what to think. In the end, I did not make it. But I was not devastated with it firstly because I was proud that I endured the three days without thinking of going back home, secondly because I learnt that passing isn’t really important as long as I keep on improving myself using what I learned during the past three days.

Overall, this camp had taught me much more than I ever imagine. It not only taught me how to be a better speaker, but also to see things in many different ways. We have to constantly challenge ourselves to think further and out of the box. Effective communication with the crowd is proportion to the response you get so building rapport was important too. I also learn to appreciate and to study the bible more after repeating the topic for numerous times. The things which I should improve more is my volume and to be able to speak with conviction. Maybe I should take up some vocal classes or shout more often so that my real voice can be open up.

Besides that, I would also like to thank Mr. Terence, Zen, Alan and the team for their sincere comments, encouragement, patience and sleepless nights throughout the 3 days camp. Not forgetting Rev. Calvin who was the one who wants the best out of us and I thank you for his great effort and vitamin pills. Last but not least, I am so grateful to God that He gave me this opportunity to learn and I would keep on improving and pushing myself to my limits at the same time looking forward to see what He has planned in front of me.

我就像是真开始要被上帝拣选来磨练的 “ DIAMOND ” 。REDO 的字眼对我来讲其实还不算压力。可是，每当演讲完后评审就会给我不少的评语，而这些评语就刚刚让我压力起来了，我不懂怎样去改变我自己

（这才是我的压力呀~各位，弟兄姐妹）！

可是，当我迈进“祷告”环节的当儿，我终于学会懂得凡事交托给上帝。即使，评审告诉我们上帝不会理会我们在这3天里的受训，可是我却不管和理会他们说所的去做。因为，每当危难临到，我必信靠，神必令我度过。所以最终，我还是“及格”。

我很开心和庆幸。因为慈爱的天父，透过某些人来鼓励我为我打气加油和安慰，让我在筹钱到参加在到回来的这一段日子。神，不断让我更认识祂！！！教会的执事在金钱上支持我来参加这活动。然后，上帝也让我在题目：“祷告”上学习到如何跟神沟通和交托！嗯 ….. 祷告的力量很大，可是如果没有努力的话，再祷告一百遍，神也不会白白赐福于我。教会的朋友们也不断的互相给与鼓励与帮助，可以说大家给钱去是受苦，可是大家却是愿意这样做，因为大家都想拥有上帝的改变！我也要被改变，我要全新的我！！！

Pastor CALVIN , 感谢你！因为你让我知道一颗没被磨练过的钻石是不可能会亮晶晶，照耀人！所以，我已求神让我突破和得到改变！我也学习到不要跟别人斗，要斗就先战胜自己。

最后，我还是要说：虽然，天堂的路是窄小的，可是我还是会突破所有困难走到最后！

After 3days exhausted workshop, I still hardly believe I able to go through all the brain killing assignments and received an unexpected (shocking) final result which I believe it had created a great impact to my soul, life and speaking skill.

It's the first public speaking workshop for me and I have pushed my brain limit to learn more about English especially pronunciation and vocabulary. It is never easy to speak with good posture and gesture, albeit "speaking" in front of people is not a major problem to me. But the fear of "REDO" and the stress of digging out our hidden (darkest) story had caused me a hard time to improve my speaking. The add-up pressure indirectly hit to me when trainers kept shaking their head and go serious on me.

At first, I wanted to register this workshop so badly to proven that 80's are not Strawberry Generation. I hope to seek for a breakthrough in my career and ministry path by taking this challenge~ however, DAY 2 I realized this is not a workshop to prove you are strong or weak but to teach you...

there's a time to move on and let go..

there's a time we should believe and trust by accepting other people's advise and help..

And there's a time we need to make some breakthrough in our life to erase our blindness..

Public speaking with confidence is a continuous path of learning and growing. I will forever seek for speaking confidence which can inspired people wholeheartedly. I’m thankful for being a part of this workshop.

我是一个很冲动的人，小组组长问我要不要去public speaking,我居然一口答应。可是日子久了，听到弟兄说他们以前参加时候的经历，很压力之类的。我开始想，如果我可以生病，然后不用去就好了。可是我知道，如果我这么做，是很没用的，只好硬着头皮去。

星期五的早上，我还跟朋友有说有笑，一些弟兄看起来很累，一些已经很紧张，可是我都没有特别的感觉。至到开始排课室桌子的时候，感觉大家都开始严肃起来。评审说接下来的3天，神不会聆听祷告，当时真是苦笑不得。

第一个assignment,介绍自己，2分钟。但是我觉得我没办法说足两分钟。两位坐在我旁边的弟兄，称赞我很镇定，但是其实我的手抖得不行。接下来的题目真让我头痛，都市发展和大自然中找到平衡。我想若不是这次的public speaking，我这辈子都不想这个问题。这个题目真的让我开始去思想原来我们随着年龄的长大已经渐渐忽略了大自然的重要性。小时候，老师都会跟我们说植物多重要，可是长大后的我们，只会想得到最好的科技，环保和地球是否会灭亡总抱着事不关己的态度。虽然我们是个小公民，没办法改变政府不发展，不砍伐，但我深信我们一些小小的环保或关灯一小时的活动能让地球延续生命。

第3个assignment,为何要祷告。我实在小看这题目了，不要以为身为基督徒就很懂得这题目。错的，有些时候我们只为了祈求或者这是习惯就祷告。我们到底了解祷告吗？这题目我redo了6次。第一晚的晚餐，我已经吃不下了。因为我并没有做的一次比一次好，甚至我觉得好难，要大动作一点，要顾虑两旁的观众，要眼神交流，要有rappor,还要大小声。我怎么做啊？一个看似简单的题目，我写了十多张纸，introduction改了又改。Redo redo redo,我连睡觉发梦都听到一把声音叫我redo，越redo越压力，越没信心。我已经redo到自己都麻木了。但是我的助长跟我是说，要用心去讲，不要用口。Terence评审真的很好，我以为他叫我出去是要骂我，我好怕他，但他很用心教我，让我知道我应该放一点。Alice也是，他让我知道原来使用视觉助力，大家更有心听你把assignment说完。这开始了我的创意，丢水，撕纸，还把我辛苦写的十张个稿子都大力的丢在地上。是的，也许神这3天都不听祷告，但这是身为基督徒的责任，难道我们只因为祈求才祷告？不，我们也可以为了跟神立志我不要在redo了，我要做的更好，我要改变，我要荣耀我神的名。“Pass”，我根本没办法形容那一刻的心情，甚至我开始恢复我的胃口，因为午餐才吃了几口。就因为redo了这么多次，这个pass更令我觉得珍贵。现在我知道，祷告是美好的，我要祷告，用祷告表达我的赞美感谢。

但是第4个题目更惨。试婚？一个我从没听过的字。这个题目，让我的第2个晚上只睡了一个钟。一开始开头不吸引人，结尾不strong,没有好的tone,没有表情，动作不好。我想了又想，也是到了第3天下午，我才想到一个令评审满意的开头，结尾若不是Terence给我的意见，我知道我一定做不好。为了这个题目我哭了，我以为我不会哭的。眼泪不是因为评审给我压力，而是我真的很难过，我怎么一直做不好？我很没有用，都知道自己哪里做的不好，但是redo了几次还是没有进步，甚至我做的比第一次还差。还好，评审没有放弃我们任何一个，Terence跟我说我是可以的，一句简单的话，给我不少的勇气。

第五题因为时间的问题，我自己没有什么idea，所以没把assignment做完。好可惜，因为我很想听评审说Pass。哈哈，但是回去后，这问题不断在我脑海浮现，我也想当有印象力的人，能为主拯救生命。神能给我很多很多，但我什么都没为他做，我不愿当失败的基督徒。只要我还活着，我就要有基督徒的榜样。就像我的朋友都不信神，选择相信自己，但是我们可以由一些见证开始改变他们的想法。影响别人，也可以由小事开始。不过我也有目标，我在学着keyboard,希望明年能在教会的台上开始我的服事生涯，因为我觉得音乐容易进入人心，大家都爱音乐。希望我不但能以音乐赞美我的神，甚至有一天能够作词作曲把圣歌带入青少年中。我深信，神必与我同在，赐我智慧。

最后，我要谢谢评审们，不断的鼓励。包括Alvin耐心的教导。谢谢牧师，给我的关心，怕我没有吃东西，越来越瘦，牧师就像爸爸一样亲切。别人说牧师是神所拣选的，我知道也许public speaking 让牧师亏钱，但是我相信神必大大的赐福给一位这么用心的牧师。这次我不但学到skill，学到面对失败，甚至面对压力，还反省一些平时我们都不思考的问题。这绝对是毕生难忘的经历。
